Finding Peace In the Fact of God

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth… Genesis 1:1

These words, found in the opening line of the Bible, convey a truth of utmost significance. Unlike philosophical debates or intricate logical arguments, this statement doesn't require complex reasoning. It boldly declares the existence of God as an undeniable fact.

Reflection:

Have you ever had moments when your feelings about God seemed to cloud the simple fact of His existence? It's a common experience for many of us. Life's challenges, doubts, and uncertainties can sometimes cast shadows over our belief in God. We might even question why God allows certain things to happen.

Yet, the beauty of the creation story is that it leaves no room for doubt or debate; it presents God's existence as an absolute fact. "In the beginning, God." There's no hesitation, no philosophical discourse, just an unequivocal statement. This powerful declaration calls us to a profound truth: God is real, regardless of our feelings.

Devotional:

When we face trials, uncertainties, or moments of despair, we can find solace in knowing that God is real. The creation story reminds us that there's a God who spoke the universe into existence, a God who is sovereign over all things. This God, who brought order to chaos, can do the same in our lives.

"Facts don't care about feelings." This simple yet profound statement reminds us that facts remain unchanged by our emotions. The fact of God's existence isn't altered by our doubts or worries. In those challenging moments, we can trust in this unshakable fact. We can rely on the Creator who made the heavens and the earth to guide us through the complexities of life.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we confess that our feelings sometimes cloud our understanding of Your existence. Help us, Lord, to hold fast to the unchanging fact that You are real. In moments of doubt or uncertainty, may we find comfort and strength in knowing that You are the Creator of all things. Teach us to trust in Your sovereignty, even when our feelings waver. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May you find reassurance in the unchanging fact of God's existence, especially when feelings of doubt or uncertainty arise.
